In the early 1980’s, Mike worked for Taylor Woodrow Construction who were the Management Consultants for the Terminal 4 Project at Heathrow. Mike was based in the site office there and worked as a Quantity Surveyor.

Mike would join a group of the team who used to go to the sports club at Taylor Woodrow's Head Office in Southall one evening a week to play squash, badminton and go for a swim.

Michael also worked abroad for a few months in Nigeria.
